TINJAUAN VISUAL KUANTITATIF GAYA TEKAN DAN TARIK PADA STRUKTUR RANGKA

Abstract

A truss is a structural element composed of a stable arrangement of slender interconnected bars. Since no moment can be transferred a friction pin joint, truss members are assumed to carry only axial force-either tension or compression. Load position influence to the element forces and support reaction. Determine the tension and compression of the element of truss is important in truss structure analysis in this research was made truss structure model use aluminium material to show the tension and compression in a visually and quantitave. Elasticity characteristic aluminium material was modificates by spring to connect the top of element and the below elements. The tension and compression be caused the load external can be shown in a visually and than the spring shortened or contracted and elongated or stretched can be measured. In this research, vertical external load 1122,5 gram at join of the truss. The result of this test shown the compression force occurred at the bar GH and tension force occurred at the bar BC. The maximum spring shortened at 0,55 cm and the maximum spring elongated at 0,21 cm occurs when the load at joint B. by analytic method the maximum spring shortened at 0,264 cm and the maximum spring elongated at 0,153 cm occurs when the load at joint B
